Q: What gives the symptoms of prostate without being prostate ?
I have many of the symptoms of an enlarged prostate.
Such that I am always making sure I know where the nearest bathroom
is. It is really inconvenient and makes me feel somewhat down.
I am a 47 year old male (younger than one would expect for such urinary problems).
My Dr has ruled out prostate (only slightly enlarged) and prostate cancer.
I have tried some prostate medication anyway and it had no affect.
I have tried a herbal tea that supposedly helps but it hasn't yet (only two days so far).
Does anyone know of any other causes of OAB symptoms like this ?
A: Simple urinary tract infection can simulate prostatitis. See a urologist, have an evaluation, and have this treated. Most men do have urinary symptoms at some time in their lives, though certainly not as commonly as women do.
Many time, a general practitioner does not detect root cause of urinary tract issues. (My own prejudice and observation here.)
Q: can children under 18 get prostate cancer?
my son is having urinary burns and is having much trouble urinating. i have not seen any blood but i read the symptoms and he has most of them. I hope im not offending anyone, im just very paranoid. Thank you!
A: 39 years old is the youngest that I know of... It is not likely that he has a detectable Prostate cancer at age 18.
Prostatitis or Urinary Infections are more likely.
Young men have a higher chance of having testicular problems... they should be informed. They should know that if there is a (testiculat) problem or changes like a lump or pain- to let a parent and/or Dr. know asap. Time is of the essance and the sooner the better if there is a testicular cancer. Teens are at a higher risk for that... but men can get it later in life as well the risk decreases with age for testicular CA but increases for Prostate CA.
If you're over 50, have abnormal s/s - or a family history of prostate cancer-it's a good idea to get a (the routine blood test/cancer screening)-P.S.A.. Prostatic Specific Antigen -is helpful with your exam.
Hope to be of help! :)
Q: Can colon cancer be associated with teens??
can colon cancer-the symptoms-be associated with young teens? like if they are 14 or 13 and above? well i know someone who's fathers dad had colon cancer(died of it) and now recently her uncle got prostate cancer (not genetics etc.,).
I know someone who asked a similiar ?. She had bad pimples which goes away for a week (she uses creams) and the next two weeks or one week it comes back! All of it. or pimples associate with her allergies too.
A: Take a look at the site below which explains many misunderstood things about the cancer industry, and has some natural cures too.

Q: Can You get Prostate Cancer in your 20's?
I am currently only 24 and I think I may have prostate cancer. I constantly feel like I have to Urinate even when I really don’t. I also have the lower back, stomach, and other pains associated with prostate Cancer, especially lower chronicle abdominal pain. I have seen blood when I ejaculate (not all the time but have seen blood), my penis hurts as well as my testicles and it hurts a lot when I ejaculate, I also for the first time in my life feel tired through out the day, even if I get a goodnight sleep (fatigue is also sometimes associated with prostate cancer. I have felt all this symptoms for almost 2 years, I've gone to a lot of doctors and they all have said and have found nothing wrong with me not even a UTI (they made me think it was all in my head and that I was making the pain up) but none of them ever did an anal prostate physical, until i went to my last doctor, who did a prostate anal physical, and told me my prostate was very inflamed, put me on antibiotics for a month it's been 3 weeks and the pain is still the same. All of the online studies say that prostate exams should start between an age of 40 - 50. How often do people my age get prostate cancer?
A: I deal with cancer every day and was married to a urologist and have never ever heard of someone in their 20s with prostate cancer. 0.6% of prostate cancers occur between the age of 35-44. As lo_mcg said, there is no data available for prostate cancer occurring before 35. Your symptoms are not typical of prostate cancer if you were a 60 year old man. However, you should see a urologist as your problem does appear to be urological.
Q: what happens in final stages of prostate cancer?
Is he in his last stages? What can I do? What should we look for?
Symptoms:
can't swallow, can't talk, tired, weight loss
A: Death
Q: Any one here that has or had prostate cancer?
What were your symptoms?
I have been having pain in my groin that goes from just behind my scrotum and all the way to my lower back. I have had kidney stones but this is a different kind of pain.
No trouble starting my urine stream or maintaining it, but when I'm finished, it slows to a trickle.
Any help or insights before I head to the doctor would be great, Thanks
A: Typically prostate cancer is a slow growing cancer and usually occurs in men over 60, it is rare to occur under 50. The symptoms come on slowly and are the same as BPH. Pain is not a symptom until the disease is advanced and you would have had it for several years. Scrotal pain is not typical of prostate cancer. It sounds more like torsion or a hernia, but you should be examined by a urologist.
Q: Questions for my boyfriend?
What are the symptoms of prostate cancer? and is it unhealthy to ejaculate everyday?
A: symptoms are rectal pain, pelvic pain, blood in urine, inability to urinate, unable to fully empty bladder, and prostate enlargement.
i can't see any reason why it would be unhealthy to ejaculate daily.
Q: Urology symptoms?
I am asking for helps again please. 36 years old, frequent urinations started (days & night without pain or burning sensations) 2 weeks ago. I took PSA and Chlamydia tests as ordered Chlamydia came back negative and PSA was slightly elevated 2.7 (cut off = 2.5). PCP asked me to retake the PSA after 2 weeks & gave me 2 weeks of Doxycycline. However, she told me that she'll refer me a urologist whether the result is normal or abnormal. I was so depressed and came back 10 days later and asked for a PSA retest because I was not convinced about the result since she did not mention to me that there should be no sex for at least 48 hours and possibly excercise before the test which I played soccer within 24 hours before I took the 1st test. Total PSA is back in normal range 2.4, complexed PSA is 1.8 (I had sex 49 hours before the test). I'm now waiting for the approval to see specialist and being so depressed thinking of prostate cancer although the symptoms are 20-30% better. Please help me
A: go see the urologist. You may have Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia which in a non-cancerous infection of the prostate. It takes a while for any antibiotics to work on this kind of infection because the blood flow is low to that area.
The sooner you go to the urologist, the sooner you can get healthy

Q: What are the symptoms of testicular cancer, and can a 30 year old get it?
My husbands only 30, and started having some terrible symptoms. Trouble peeing, hurt to pee, then he started having pains in his groin and now one of his testicles is starting to swell - We went to the doctor 2 days ago, to have a prostate check done, but the doctor didn't come near him - He said it was way too early for anything to be wrong with his prostate because he's only 30... He did however order an ultrasound on his testicles and his prostate just in case and did a blood test for some PS level. We haven't gotten any results back yet, but we wanted to hear from others who have had symptoms like these to see if we could rule out some of the scarier conclusions. What are the main symptoms of testicular cancer?
A: As rightly told by your doctor it is too early to tell anything and unless all tests are done it is difficult to evaluate the positon. I suggest you to wait for some more time till the results of ultrasound comes and anything confirmed by your doctor. The nature of any palpated lump in the scrotum is evaluated by scrotal ultrasound, which can determine exact location, size, and some characteristics of the lump, such as cystic vs solid, uniform vs heterogeneous, sharply circumscribed or poorly defined.
Malignant tumour of the testis, or testicle. Although relatively rare, testicular cancer is the most common malignancy for men between the ages of 20 and 34. It typically affects men between 15 and 39 years old. A developmental abnormality of males in which one or both testes fail to descend into the scrotum about the time of birth increases the risk of developing the cancer later in life. The most notable symptom of testicular cancer is the formation of a painless lump in either testis.
However, I would like to give you the following Symptoms of testicular cancer for your information and ask your husband to watch for the same.-
-a lump in one testis or a hardening of one of the testicles
-abnormal sensitivity (either numbness or pain)
-loss of sexual activity
-sexual withdrawal
-build-up of fluid in the scrotum
-a dull ache in the lower abdomen or groin
-lumbago
-An increase, or significant decrease, in the size of one testis. The testicle with a tumor may be severely enlarged, as much as 3 times the original size. Simultaneously the other testicle may be shrunken in size, due to the tumor taking up the majority of the blood supply to the scrotum.
-blood in semen
-general weak and tired feeling
Please do not worry and it is very essential to have consultations with your doctor and take action further -

A: All forms of cancer are painful to die from. You really need to get checked out.
Q: im 14 years old is it possible for me to get prostate cancer?
i looked up the symptoms and i have most of them what do i do? what kind of doctor do i go to please help
A: Prostate cancer primarily affects men over 50. That's not saying it's impossible for a 14 year old, but it's very, very unlikely... especially since symptoms are slow to appear, and may be non-existent in early stages of the disease (as in you can have it for years and not see any symptoms).
It's more likely you have a bladder infection, or some other UTI issue, if you're seeing similar symptoms. Have your parents make an appointment with your pediatrician.
Q: Prostate Cancer - More Info Needed?
My brother has prostate cancer. He is 44 years old. He had symptoms for over a year and finally went to a doctor when it was too painful to walk. A biopsy shows that 75% of his prostate is cancerous and 25% is precancerous. His prostate cancer has no PSA reading. The doctor told us his cancer is an aggressive cancer. A scan showed some of his lymph nodes were swollen, but it may be because of a biopsy... The doctors did not put him on hormones.
My question is: Is it normal not to put a person on hormones before they are scheduled for prostate removal? (He's scheduled next month for surgery). Has anyone else had experience with this type of prostate cancer in a younger man?? What type of experience did you have?
A: I am 48 yo. I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in july. Of the 12 biopsy samples taken, 7 came back positive for cancer, so more than half the prostate was cancerous. The gleason score (mine was 7) and the cancer staging (mine is stage II) help determine how aggressive the cancer is and how likely it is that it has spread beyond the prostate. My Dr. recommended surgery. I sought a second opinion and decided on surgery, but decided on a new procedure that is less invasive and easier to heal from with fewer chances of the side effects associated with prostatectomy, incontinence and impotence. The surgery is Robotic Laparoscopic Radical Prosatectomy, I would recommend you research this as an option for your brother. Sometimes a Dr. will start with Hormone Therapy to shrink the size of the tumor before surgery, but it is not commonly done. If the cancer is thought to have spread beyond the prostate after surgery there may be follow up with Radiation and Hormone Therapy as well.
I am sorry to hear of your brothers diagnosis,
this must be a difficult time for you and your family. A diagnosis of Prostate Cancer is devastating and life changing. The support of family and friends was a great comfort to me in making treatment decisions and going through the treatment process. I wish you the best of luck.
Q: Is any men out there 45 or younger dealing with prostate cancer ?
what was some of first symptoms you had ?
A: Benign prostatic hyperplasia is nonmalignant adenomatous overgrowth of the periurethral prostate gland. Symptoms are those of bladder outlet obstruction—urinary frequency, urgency, nocturia (urination during night), hesitancy, incomplete emptying, terminal dribbling, overflow incontinence, or complete urinary retention. Diagnosis is based on digital rectal examination, cystoscopy, transrectal ultrasonography, or IVU. Treatment options include 5α-reductase inhibitors, α-blockers, and surgery.
Symptoms:-
(1) Frequent urination especially at night.
(2) Feeling that urination has not done completely. If you try again after few minutes, you can pass a large volume of urine again.
(3) Weak flow of urine and intermittedly. A child can pass urine as a jet of water with force.
(4) Delay in urination. If you try, urine will come out a little later and not suddenly.
(5) Urgent need for urination.
(6) Dripping of urine.
Transurethral resection of the prostate (also known as TURP, plural TURPs) is a urological operation for Benign Prostate Hyperplasia.
Prostate Specific Antigen test is done to rule out the possibility of prostate cancer.
Please see the web pages for more details on Benign Prostate Hyperplasia, PSA and TURP.
Q: Does this sound like prostate cancer?
I woke up and didn't feel like I had to go pee right away, but after 4 minutes it felt like I had to go pee. I don't have any other symptoms of it, do I have it??
A: No, you are in the clear. It is the urinating with some difficulty i.e. not forming a good stream, that might be of concern. Anyway, just ask doctor to conduct a p.s.a. test. Ask him to explain what that is,but if you are under 40 then there is no rush. Many younger men under 60 can get this problem. Most men by they time they are70 have had it.Radiation treatment is exceptionally wonderful.
