Q: Can specific exercises improve urine flow in men?
I'm 62 and have BPH but no sign of prostate cancer. I'm taking Flomax but I still have weak urine flow and some dripping after. Are there exercise that can strengthen urine flow and emptying?
A: Nope. You can do Kegal exercises, but they won't help with the flow. They may help with the drip.
Slow flow when urinating is caused by a constriction of your urethra by your prostate. Flowmax helps, but only a little. Other drugs are used to shrink the prostate, but they have side affects. If drugs cannot help, then surgery is warranted. I had HoLAP surgery and I now pee like a 20 year old!
Q: Cancer: 2 questions?
1) Genetically: please give me information about the possibility of me contrcting cancer if other people in my family have it
2) If I pee frequently, but dont have issues holding a stream, it is not painful is that a sign of PROSTATE cancer
for question 1 MUST HAVE SOURCE
A: Im assuming your male. If you were a female Id say you may be drinking too much water or too much coffe, it acts as a diretic. It is always a good idea to mayby see a doctor then a urologist if need be. My source is I have had bladder cancer and know something about it as I dianosed myself and was right. Because of this I wont lose my bladder or just die. I can tell you that more often than not people dont know they have bladder cancer untill its too late! As far as being genetic anything is possible early detection is the best measure!
Q: Is this a bad sign?
I´m 14, and male, I masturbated today, and my semen was watery. Is this a sign of Prostate Cancer???????
A: nope, it's just watery today. If you wait a couple of days it will become thick again.
Q: NHS denying prostate cancer victims help?
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml;jsessionid=EJ1RZNWUDEEGPQFIQMGCFF4AVCBQUIV0?xml=/news/2007/12/16/ncancer116.xml
In the U.K., the NHS (National Health Services) has denied Hifu (High Intensity Focused Ultrasound) to victims of prostate cancer.
The U-turn comes despite the research published last month in the European Journal of Urology which found that _eight_ out of 10 men were healthy five years after being treated with Hifu.
The groundbreaking ultrasound therapy has been shown to kill _nine_ out of 10 prostate tumours, and five years after treatment, 80 per cent of patients show no sign of the cancer recurring.

Good point mattcy... I knew I'd forgotten something in that.
So my question is:
How do *you* feel knowing that men are being killed off when a treatment is available that could save their lives?
OK, so it may not affect all of you (e.g. those in another country) but if you were in England, or had a very close relative (Brother, Father, Uncle, Nephew, etc.) who did live here - would you think it ok that the UK government spend endless amounts of money on Breast cancer - but won't give a proven treatment to men?
Thoughts..?
A: As a Man I am appalled. As a Nurse I am disgusted. As a Human Being I am ashamed of my entire species for the way in which 'Men's Health' issues are allowed to be ignored, and the way some members of our society profit from the promotion of 'Women's Heath' projects at the expense of men.
If I were to tell you that only 1/9 th of 1 cent out of every $100.00 raised for cancer research is spent on all three of the "Male Gender Specific Cancers" (Prostate, Penile and Testicular) people would think that I was mad. More men die each year from prostate cancer than do women from Breast Cancer, yet the 'women's movement' only gives support to this issue when it is 'politically expedient' for them to do so. How many companies sponsor 'Breast Cancer' related research and detection programs, yet turn a blind eye to the needs of men? I once commented the men's health was a feminist issue, and was laughed at. Go figure.
Q: pain in testicles, lower back, and lower stomach after ejaculating?
Just a little under a week ago, me and my fiance had sexual intercourse. which is an every-other-day thing. but this time, after we had intercourse and he ejaculated, he felt intense pain in one of his testicles, his lower back, and lower stomach. every time since then when we have intercourse, and he ejaculates, this happens. what could this be? I really highly doubt that its any sort of STD. could this be a sign of prostate cancer? something?
A: you need to tell your husband that he is doing it too fast
and needs to take his time and putting a lot of pressure
on himself. sex is not a track meet to see how fast you
can do it.
Q: Is this a sign or not?
When you cu m, if it does not have much semen content in it does that mean you've got prostate cancer and do not produce much semen or does it just mean you produce a lot of sperm?
I don't know the signs of having prostate cancer, is this a sign or not?
If you do have thick cu m what does it mean?
A: This is not a symptom of prostate cancer nor is it a way to test for it. You do not sound old enough to be concerned about prostate cancer, as most men at that age could care less about their sperm count and do not dwell on the consistency of their semen. If you are old enough then you should be getting screening exams and at least a baseline PSA.
Q: Last year my boyfriend had blood in his urine ......?
after many tests and scans no reason was ever found and the bleeding stopped. He was told it was probably an infection. It was never a lot of blood. He was told if he ever noticed anything different then to go back.
He has now noticed that he going for a wee more often and it dribble more at the end. Which are both signs of prostate cancer. He is 28. He is gonna go to the doctor next week as he was told to. But what else could this be a sign off? He has recently changed his diet a lot. He is eating way more fruit and drinking more water and juice. Could this be the reason.
Like i said we are going to the doctor, but as he had the bleeding before and all the story's you hear we are worried.
Thanks for the answers, my main question is could the fact he is going toilet more often be down to his diet change as well as a sign of cancer?
A: i think its best for him just to go to the doctor, just to be sure
Q: Can you get prostate cancer at 18?
I am 18 years old, and i have being experiencing difficulties with urinating. For instance, i have to wake up 2 to 3 time in the middle of the night to urinate. When i was reading about it a bit more, i found out you can experience back problems too which in fact is true in my case because my lower back has bin hurting for more than a month now and no signs of improvement. I also have problem while urinating. Is there any more signs that i should look for?
A: If this has been going on for a month you should see your doctor. Whilst reading symptoms on the web can give you an idea of what may be wrong it can also cause so much worry thinking have I got this or have I got that. Take a sample of urine to you doctor and he will e#be able to do some simple tests immediately with a test strip and will be able to see if you have an infection etc. Depending on what he finds he will then proceed with either a simple prescription for antibiotics or further tests if this is necessary. Good luck and remember although you can get any type of cancer at any age prostrate cancer affects mainly men over 50 and is more common the older they get.
Q: testicular abdominal and lower back pain related?
HELP I have been having testicular pain. here is as much as I can offer. In the short time it takes to shower, maybe 5 to 10 minutes, when my guys are unsupported they ache. I can support them and it is better but hurts. When I dry off and bend over I get a shooting pain in my back and testicles. Additional info If I have sex in a chair sometimes I will get a real sharp pain in my right side abdomin. Finally if I am standing for periods of time I will get a dull aching in my nads and need to sit for 10 minutes then I feel much better. Medical history. vericele both sides 5 years ago utrasound shows no sign of re-occuring 3 Uroligists No cancer signs, no hernia & prostate good. Next I fell off a ladder 8 years ago and compressed 3 vertibrete in my lower back. Off to the the sports medicine doctor. MRI negative. Chiropractor 3 times a week for a month still Pain everyday. I am thinking there is a connection with my abdominal pain. Any Ideas and don't bother with your jackoff jokes
A: Muscle spasms in the pelvic floor muscles can refer pain to testicles, penis, rectum. Urologists don't often know about this. If you have had it checked out by a doctor, I'd next look for a Physical Therapist who has experience in pelvic pain. There is a website for the International Pelvic Pain Society that has a directory of members in your area.
Q: Does Hillary Laugh While Your Dad/Son Dies of Prostate Cancer?
Breast cancer research gets 10 times as much money as prostate cancer research.
Yet, 1/2 as many men will die from PC as women will die of BC.
Have you heard any female congresswomen fight for the men in their lives? Why NOT?????
Is that a sick sign of our culture?
captain... men die from PC and women in Congress ignore it. Why? Sexist? Hate of men or what?
A: cancer research is NOT mutually exclusive - a cure in breast cancer will lead to great strides in finding a cure for PC
Please don't politicize cancer in this way

Q: Prostate cancer?
I have, for about 3 or 4 years now had the problem of not being able to empty my bladder fully every time I go to the toilet. I have to basicly, go back and finish off minutes later. Over a year a go I thought I should get a proper opinion and went to see a specialist. He examond my penis, also took a urine sample. When the test came back he said it was just that my prostate was a bit tight but no need to be alarmed. He said to see for certain they could check by sticking a camera up through my penis. I basicly said no I cant have that and thought he thinks its fine and went on my way. Now I am worried after reading that protate cancer is a big killer in men and,as you get older it is increased risk. Since I am having trouble with mine at 23-27yrs old, is this a bad sign? Or should I not worry cos the specialist didn`t from my sample?
One more thing. The specailist told me that when I feel I need to go for a "Number 2" i should go straight away. I should never wait. Why is this?
A: If you are concerned about prostate cancer, you need to request a PSA blood test. Also, an enlarged prostate can be determined by a simple 10 second digital rectal exam. Request these of your doctor, and if he does not comply, find another physician.
Q: a lump? please help.?
I've discovered a lump before my left testicle in my penis. I'm 13, too embarassed to talk to anyone. Do you think its a sign of prostate/ testicular cancer? I'm perfectly healthy otherwise, no other lumps.
A: you need to see your Dr I know it's kinda embarrassing but it could be a number of things, harmless or not. And just remember no one is going to judge you and if it makes you more comfortable ask your dad take you. just please go see the Dr.
Q: my dad in august and was 95 years old & had prostate cancer to, He went to hospitol & more below,?
Then after his Prosate cancer got worse, He had a Bad Ache, & he thought it was a Bad Back Acting up, & OK, heres My question, When he went to nusing home, He was Eating/ & all of a Sudden Refused to eat, He Was alert enough to Sign Papers Not to Put Tubes/ wires/ On him, Ok, heres My real question, My older sister, Told the Nursing Home to increase his Morphine, to take him faster, & it did, What if They didnt? We kissed him on His cheek, He said Thank you, Very Faint, He Screamed in pain, & i keep thinking of The gross things i seen, When will it pass? the best advice, support, Story, will be best answer,
A: Chicky, I'm so sorry, that must have been horrible for you. Your sister was right in asking them to increase his morphine. I'm confident that it helped to control the pain he had, and from your description it was a great amount. Your thoughts about his last minutes will eventually become less active. I went through something similar with my mom, who passed away from cancer. Try to focus on the happy times you had with your dad. I do that with my mom. Depending on how you handle things, it may take a while, which will be difficult, but again, try to focus on the happy moments you had. It will make it easier.
