Q: could this be a sign of prostate cancer?
well im 15 1/2 and i've noticed a bump kind of under my sack. not exactly under, its more or so to the right. is it even possible that its prostate cancer since im just 15? i was hoping it was just a pimple o somthing but its been there for i guess 3 days give or take a day. what are some other signs of prostate cancer? im not sure if it runs in my fam, but i dont think so

A: prostate cancer is usually detected through digital rectal exam, and is rarely detected through testicular exam. some signs and symptoms of prostate cancer/ benign prostatic hyperplasia: decrease in the force of the urine stream dribbling of urine difficulty in initiating urination Testicular exam, on the other hand, is used for determining testicular CA, as evidenced by lumps. Don't be alarmed. Monitor the size of the bump frequently...if it gets bigger or doesnt disappear, then i suggest you go see you doctor for a check-up. hope this was useful.

Q: i have a big lump on the bottom of my ball sack. could this be a sign of prostate cancer?
is this a sign of paranoia or not because im only 18. i was told that it was not possible to get testicular cancer at 18.

A: I'm not sure prostate cancer would show up that way. Testicular cancer, epididimitis or a hernia might. Either way, you need to get to a physician and get checked out. Whatever is going on is probably treatable, but it can't be treated if you don't know what it is. Sorry, no one is too young for cancer, unfortunately. Best wishes

I've been urinating a lot lately even when I don't drink anything. Is that a sign of prostate cancer or is it something else?

A: Over 80% of men diagnosed with prostate cancer are over 65 and half of all cases occur in men over 75. It's extremely rare in men under 50, and so rare in young men that there are no statistics available for the disease incidence in men under 35.

Q: Is blood in semen a sign of prostate cancer ?

A: Blood in the semen is not a sign of prostate cancer. You need to get this checked though to find out what is causing it.

Q: Why do I sometimes ejaculate blood? Is that a sign of prostate or testicular cancer? It onlyhappened five tim?
Im 19 and i'm a virgin. I never been in a sexual relation ship so i probably don't have STDs. When it happened i felt pleasure and did not feel that much pain just a little burn. It rarely happens. Most of the time it does not happen.

A: I have some good news and some really bad news: The good news is that hematospermia (blood in semen) is NOT uncommon. It is USUALLY harmless and painless. If that were the case, then it would mean absolutely nothing (unless you were over 45). The bad news is that you said it does burn a little. This can be indicative of a number of things (or it could be nothing). I'd recommend a prostate exam and to talk to a doctor. You should do it right away.

A: The odds that you have prostate cancer at your age is very remote, but in medicine, anything is possible. After the testing is complete, he'll probably refer you to a urologist for a second opinion. If he doesn't, ask him to.

Q: What are some of the symtoms/signs of prostate cancer?

A: Prostate cancer usually does not cause symptoms in its early stages. Most men don't know they have it until it is found during a regular medical exam. Being unable to urinate at all. Having to urinate often. Feeling that your bladder is not emptying completely when you urinate. Having to get up at night to urinate. Having pain or a burning feeling when you urinate. Having blood in your urine. Having a deep pain in your lower back, abdomen, hip, or pelvis.

Q: What are the Signs of prostate cancer in the early and later stages??

A: Prostate cancer often does not cause symptoms for many years. By the time symptoms occur, the disease may have spread beyond the prostate. When symptoms do occur, they may include: -Frequent urination, especially at night. -Inability to urinate. -Trouble starting or holding back urination. -A weak or interrupted flow of urine. -Painful or burning urination. -Blood in the urine or semen. -Painful ejaculation. -Frequent pain in the lower back, hips, or upper thighs. Some of these symptoms are also present in some prostate disorders other than cancers such as benign prostate enlargement.

Q: Enlarged Prostate what else besides cancer can it mean?
My brother in law has been having alot of pain in his abdomen and the doctor ordered CAT scans on thursday. We just got the results (by phone so they didnt go into any detail) and they said he had an enlarged prostate. So I know guys can get prostate cancer and one of the signs is enlarged prostate. What other things can an enlarged prostate mean?

A: An enlarged prostate might just mean Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy(BPH). Many men get it. I causes problems urinating, frequent urination, waking up at night to pee a lot. But it is actualy not that big of a deal. It does not lead to cancer and unless it is blocking his urinary outflow it can be easily treated by medication. If the prostate did enlarge to the point where it cant be medically treated it can be removed.

Q: I'm 37 male. What are the early signs of prostate and colon cancer? What are the main causes? ?
How and what should I do to prevent both of these illnesses.

A: The most common early sign of prostate cancer is suddenly needing to urinate more frequently than normal (this can also be a symptom of urinary tract and other infections) particularly, stopping urination but feeling that you haven't emptied your bladder. The commonest early sign of bowel/colon cancer is an alternation between diarrhea and constipation, other common early symptoms include abdominal pain, blood in stools and sudden weight loss. Neither disease can be completely prevented but it's thought that an active sex/ejaculation life may reduce concentrations of carcinogens in the prostate gland. Chances of developing bowel/colon cancer are shown to be reduced by including plenty of fibre (bran, wholegrain bread etc), fruit and vegetables in the diet, the recommended daily intake is 5 portions of fruit or vegetables a day.
